Information stored on your device

If you use lookfwdly without signing in information you add to the app is primarily stored on your device.

This may include trip destinations, travel dates, saved content and app preferences. This information is used to provide features such as trip countdowns, destination content and Home Screen or Lock Screen widgets.

You can remove trip information and saved content within the app. If you are not signed in deleting lookfwdly removes information stored locally by the app.

Optional account and Sign in with Apple

You may choose to create a lookfwdly account using Sign in with Apple.

When you do this Apple provides information needed to identify and authenticate your account. Depending on the choices you make when signing in this may include your name, email address or an Apple private relay email address.

We use this information to create and authenticate your account and provide account based features.

Creating an account is optional.

Information stored with your account

lookfwdly uses Supabase to provide authentication, database and file storage services.

If you choose to sign in information associated with your account may be transmitted to and stored using Supabase. This may include:

• Your profile information such as your display name and email address provided through Sign in with Apple.
• Your profile avatar if you choose to add one.
• Trips you create including destinations and travel dates.
• Content you save within lookfwdly such as saved glimpses.
• Information required to associate this content with your account.

We use this information only to provide and operate lookfwdly including making your account information and saved app data available when you are signed in.

Supabase processes this information as a service provider to lookfwdly.

Photos

If you choose to use a photo as your profile avatar lookfwdly may ask you to select an image from your Photos library. The image you select may be uploaded to Supabase and associated with your account.

If you choose to save an image from lookfwdly to your Photos library the app may request permission to add that image to Photos.

lookfwdly does not use your Photos library for advertising or marketing purposes.

Destination content

lookfwdly may download destination images, phrases and other app content using services provided by Apple or other content delivery providers.

These services may process technical information required to deliver content to your device according to their own privacy practices.

lookfwdly does not use destination content requests for targeted advertising.

Optional analytics

lookfwdly offers optional product analytics to help us understand how the app is used and improve its features.

Analytics are disabled unless you choose to share them. You can use lookfwdly without sharing analytics and can change your choice at any time through the Privacy settings within the app.

When analytics are enabled lookfwdly uses Mixpanel to collect limited information about app usage. This may include app launches and interactions with onboarding, trips, widgets and daily glimpses. It may also include technical information such as the app version, operating system, device type, widget type and a randomly generated analytics identifier.

lookfwdly does not intentionally send your name, email address, exact travel dates, destination text, precise location or advertising identifier to Mixpanel.

Analytics information is used only to understand app usage, identify problems and improve lookfwdly. It is not sold, used for targeted advertising or used to track you across apps or websites owned by other companies.

Mixpanel processes and stores lookfwdly analytics information using its European data residency environment.

Analytics choices and deletion

You can turn analytics on or off at any time through the Privacy settings within lookfwdly.

Turning analytics off stops future analytics collection. It does not automatically delete analytics information previously received by Mixpanel.

You may request deletion of analytics information by contacting us. We may need the anonymous analytics identifier shown within the app to locate the relevant information.

Analytics information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to understand app usage, improve lookfwdly and meet legal or security requirements.

Account deletion and data retention

If you create an account you can delete your account from within lookfwdly.

Deleting your account removes the account and associated personal information and app data from our active systems except where limited retention is reasonably necessary for legal, security or fraud prevention purposes.

Deleting the lookfwdly app from your device does not by itself delete information associated with a signed in account. Use the account deletion option within the app if you want your account and associated cloud data deleted.

Apple services

Some lookfwdly features use services provided by Apple including Sign in with Apple.

Information processed by Apple is handled according to Apple’s privacy practices and your Apple Account or device settings.

Children

lookfwdly is intended for a general audience and is not specifically directed at children.

We do not knowingly collect information from children for advertising or targeted marketing purposes.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as lookfwdly changes or as the services used by the app change.

The latest version will be available on this page and the date above will show when it was last updated.
